My name is Franchesca, the designer behind “small bird studios”. It’s been a true pleasure designing blogs since January 2010.
I was never a blogger, and truth be told – didn’t really know what a blog was until we welcomed our preemie daughter into this world 11 weeks early. I opened up a blog in the summer of 2009 to keep everyone updated on her status, but never got it going and opted to use CarePages instead while she was in the NICU.
Jenna graced our world for 13 beautiful days and left behind a beautiful mess that I hope to share with the world. Her short life in the NICU changed my desires and placed new dreams in my heart, to help those experiencing the devastating loss of a child, infertility and adoption. This little design studio makes that possible every day, which I am so thankful for. Proceeds from every blog design is donated to March of Dimes. I also extend discounts to families blogging about the loss of a child, facing infertility and those adopting a child.
Since blog designing, I have had the honor to meet and work with Angie Smith, Carly Marie (hope to meet her one day too!), and so many other beautiful women in this blogging community.
Two months after Jenna passed I found the best therapy in writing on the blog I had originally started to post her updates on. I poured countless hours – months in fact, trying to make her blog every bit of perfection. An artist at heart, I knew I’d never be satisfied with her blog unless I designed it myself. I fell in love with design that year. And more so, as it was something I felt I could do in her name…
